Dashie and Flutters 1 - True, True Friends

UPDATE: apparently lots of people love my stories. Why not add one to the Dashie and Flutters picture that started it all?


The outskirts of Ponyville. It's way after sunset, the Moon shines like usual. The sky is dark and full of stars. Fluttershy is seen sitting on the ground. She is quite nervous about something. A few moments later that something - or in this case somepony - arrives and sits right next to Shy. They sit there for a few minutes speechless. Let's see why I dragged you to a seemingly boring scene!

- Well, you wanted me, here I am. 
 - Yeah, here you are...
*awkward silence*
 - So, what is it, Fluttershy? It must be something really important, if you asked me to come here way after midnight.
 - Uhm, yes... It's quite... important...
 - OK, bring it on! You can tell me!
 - Well, Rainbow... You see... I, uhm...
 - Yes?
*chickens out* - No, I can't! I'm sorry, Rainbow Dash, I just can't tell you! It's so stupid and I shouldn't have called you here! I was such a fool to do that!
*thinking while crying* - Oh, Dashie, I envy you so much! You always easily tell your true feelings and thoughts about anypony or anything! Why can't I be like you? Why can't I just simply tell how I feel about you!
 - Fluttershy, please don't cry! If you don't want to tell it, then don't! I won't be mad at you for that. You can tell me that anytime in the future. Just stop crying, you should know by now how much I can't stand seeing my friends in pain.
 - Fluttershy, I... I think I should... leave. OK? Or you want me to stay a bit longer?
*still crying, thinking* - NO! Don't go, Dashie! I have to tell you my feelings! I must not chicken out, like I always do! You must be brave, Fluttershy! Remember what Iron W... No, obviously not him... But I have to face my fears and tell her! I must!
*barely audiable* - P-please, stay with me...
 - OK, then, I stay with you. As long as you wish!
 - T-thank you...

They stay silent for a while. Fluttershy still gathers courage to tell the thing to Dashie, while Dashie just sits there, waiting for something to happen. She then starts a conversation to pass the time.

 - Beautiful, isn't it?
 - Huh?
 - The sky, Fluttershy! Luna did a super-extra-awesome job tonight! I bet she worked her flank off to achieve that! Hehe! She's so awesome - like Daring Do. They're both awesome at the same time. But - don't tell anypony - I think that Luna is a bit cooler. Seriously, if you tell anypony, I'll make your life less enjoyable, understand?
 - Oh, sure, OK! You can trust me, Dashie!
 - Cool then! Thanks!
*gulps a big, thinking* - Okay, Fluttershy, this is your time! You just have to turn to Dashie, take a big breath and just tell her: Rainbow Dash, I... Oh my, I don't know what to tell her! I have no idea how to tell such a thing! Angel was right, I should have borrowed that book from Twilight's library! I'm such a fool sometimes. Think, Fluttershy, think!
 - Can you fold me in your arms?
 - WUT?
 - WHAT? Did I just say it out loud? Oh, no-no-no-no-no, bad Fluttershy! What were you thinking? Attacking her with such a question! Now everything is over! This was your chance and you...
 - Ok, why the heck not?
*hugs Fluttershy*
*thinking* - WHAT? It worked? B-b-b-but... how? This is impossible! I just asked her the rudest question in existence and she is OK with that? Am I dreaming? I must be... There's no possible way that this could happen in reality!
*looks at RD who's smiling at her while embracing her*
 *thinking* - Fluttershy, dream time is over! You have to wake up, right now! Dashie is not hugging you and you're clearly out of your mind! I must end this good feeling... This... warm... Soft... Comfy...
 *thinking* - Maybe I can stay in my dream for a bit longer. I kinda like this feeling. It's always nice to be with Rainbow Dash. She's so good to me. She always protects me. She's always there for me when I need her. A brave hero - like Mare D-

Fluttershy's thinking is interrupted by something very unusual. While not paying attention to Dashie, the blue pegasus was watching the blushing yellow mare. She just stared at her with a warm smile on her face. Such a kind creature, such a nice friend. She can't hold it back anymore. So she leans forward and gives a quick and gentle kiss on Shy's cheek.

*completely stunned by the fact that her friend just kissed her*

Dashie sees that Shy is confused. She takes a deep breath and tells her a secret:
 
*sighs* - I'm sorry Fluttershy if this was too quick for ya, but I can't hold it anymore! I... I... love you Fluttershy! More than anything on Equestria. You see, the first day we met was the happiest moment in my life. I was astonished by your kindness and your overall appearance. You were the most beautiful pony I've ever seen in my life. I wanted to tell you this, but those stupid bullies started mocking you and forced me into that race. I wanted to tell them off, but I couldn't resist a challenge; you know, it's part of my nature. When I won and got my cutie mark, I wanted to race back to you and tell you my feelings, but you were gone. I searched for you everywhere, but I couldn't find you. I was devastated until years later we stumbled upon each other with the help of Twilight. Since then I wanted to tell you how much I love you, but I wasn't brave enough to do that. But I think it's time for you to know the truth. I love you, Fluttershy! With all of my heart! You're the kindest, most beautiful, most gentle mare in the whole universe! And having you as a true true friend is the best thing I could wish for!
*looks at Fluttershy* - Please don't hate me for this! It's OK, if you don't want me to be your fillyfriend! You can reject me any time! I just thougth that maybe...
 - ...maybe my dream can become true. To be with the mare I love the most. To be happy...
*turns away thinking to herself*
 *thinking* - Oh... my... Rainbow Dash... loves me? Like love loves me? I... I thought she's into Soarin'. But me? Why me? I'm nothing like her! I'm not brave, I'm not strong, I'm not agile, I'm scared of everything! And she chooses me? She says that I'm the most beautiful creature in her life? That I'm kind and gentle? And a true true friend? That's...
 *thinking* - That's the sweetest thing I've ever heard in my life. And she always speaks her mind, thus she means it! She does love me! And I... I... hehe, I love her too! She's a good friend of mine - and I sort of always wanted to be her fillyfriend. Why not do that now?
 - Uhm, Dashie?
*turns back to Fluttershy* - Yes, Fluttershy?
 - Do you mean everything you said before?
 - Every word.
 - I didn't know that you have such feelings towards me. To be honest, I always thought of you as a friend...
 - Oh, I see...
 - But it's okay with me if you want more than friendship. Because Rainbow Dash, I think that I have a little... crush on you too...
*totally surprised* - W-what? Can you repeat that, please?
 - I love you too, Rainbow Dash!
 - You do?
 - I think you're... cute... Awesomely cute...
 - Oh, Shy, don't say that, you embarrass me!
 - But it's true! You're a fantastic, awesome, brave and good-hearted pony. Oh, and you're definitely beautiful too: cyan blue fur with rainbow mane and tail? I love it from the first time I've seen you!
 - Mother nature did a great job with me, admit it!
 - I-I mean... Thank you, Fluttershy, that's really kind of you!
*just looks at RD with a cute smile*
*the same thing here*
*Dashie leans forward and gently hugs Fluttershy. 

Then she kisses Shy on her lips. Shy then does the same with Dashie. They do this over and over again for a period of time which seems like eternity. After that they lay onto their backs: Dashie folding Fluttershy in her arms, while gentle stroking the yellow mare's mane with her nose.

 *suddenly: shooting star*
 - Look, Dashie, a shooting star! My mommy told me that whenever a shooting star shows up and you wish for something, it becomes true. Would you like to make a wish?
 - Nah, I'm OK with that. Plus my wish just became true! And I didn't need damn rocks falling from the sky to do that!
 - Same here, Rainbow, same here... I think...
 - Aww Shy, you're so cute when you're uncertain, you know that?
 - Come on Dashie, stop that...
*looks at Dashie, then quickly kisses her on the nose, 
*starts blushing*
 - And you're cute when you're surprised, you know that?
 - Hehe, touché, Fluttershy, touché...

They hug each other and continue to watch the meteor shower. Dashie is smiling wild being happy about her dream finally coming true. Fluttershy is happy too, but has something else on her mind:

 *thinking* - It's funny: I called her here and she was the one who confessed her love to me. Things turned out quite well and interesting for both of us, I suppose. And I just only wanted to tell her that I like her new hairstyle...

Oops... Oh well, life is the best screenwriter, who knows what it will come up with next. 
Let's hope that our beloved two pegasi will be happy together for the rest of their lives... and beyond.


This picture was taken shortly after I opened the box containing my new 23" (57 cm) tall Fluttershy plushie from . I had an idea in my mind: why not take a picture of her with Dashie? But it was so hard to take a photo of the two - simply because it's hard to make them standing straight! Poor plushies just fall flat on their flanks. So I quickly took two pictures - in all of which Shy stands in a very awkward position (Hello, Frank Miller!) - and then I made this one. Fillies and gentlecolts, meet my first of the many photographs of my official pony plushie folder starring my favourite ponies: Dashie and Flutters!

I mean just look at it! It's like if Dashie is saying something to Fluttershy; or successfully comforting her after some terrible event; or just flirting her* etc. In fact, I decided that I'm gonna make little stories involving these two! Hehe, the possibilities; I'll have so much fun! I hope you'll have too! So be sure to check out my Stories folder for alternative little stories of RD and FS. Ta-ta!

*I'm totally OK with FlutterDash, they would look cute as a couple. But they are definitely cute as friends too.
